I'd reccomend you use the newer "Japanese style" relaxers that use a straightening iron in the process. It's a very long process depending on the length of your hair. (can take up to 8 hours). You can get it done at the salon ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$) or buy a kit at Sally beauty supply.

It may not make your hair stick straight (it doesn't on some people) but your hair will be a lot straighter than where you started. It's less damaging than lye relaxers. Also may be less damaging in the long run if you were to use a flat iron every day instead.

Dogs have (among many other genes for coat color) a gene that says if they turn gray (or in this case white). Your dog simply has the dominate gene that says she will turn gray (white). I have a black chi that is 5 years old and so much white hair has come in recently on her muzzle (and stray white hairs through her body). It's sad to me to look at her white hair as she used to be pitch black but it's nothing to worry about. There isn't anything physically wrong with the dog.

First, I'm not pregnant yet, but my boyfriend and I want to start trying soon and we're already talking about looks (eye/hair color) though we probably shouldn't and no matter what, we'd be happy so long as the baby's healthy. I'm 100% Korean, brown hair/eyes, no non-Korean ancestry as far as I know. Bf is French with some German/Polish/Russian blood. He is dirty blond with blue-gray eyes. His mother is brown/brown, father is brown/blue-gray but was platinum blond as a child (as was my bf). My bf says he saw asian-european twin babies who were blond/blue though their mother is (or at least appeared to be) full asian. He thinks there's a chance maybe we'll have the same..? I think ours will be brown/brown (whatever shade) as brown is dominant and I don't have any recessive blond/blue in my ancestry.

i think you are probably right. without blond/blue genes on your side, your child will more than likely have some shade of brown eyes and hair color ranging from black to reddish brown.

please don't take this as a moral comment, but consider getting married before having your baby. otherwise, your parent's hair will probably turn gray overnight.

There is always that chance. It isn't a high chance, but the possibility is there. There have been people who have both had brown eyes, and their child come out with blue eyes. It just all depends on which of their genes is more dominant. And like you said, as long as you love the child no matter what....it doesn't matter.

Hey its all about genes. Some genes are dominate and some are recessive. Like in reality having six fingers is the dominate gene, but since most people have two recessive genes, they end up with five fingers. Just remember that every person has two of each gene, which means they can get a mix and it can be almost impossible to tell exactly what you might get. There are certain doctors and things that could to testing and give you an idea of the chance of something, but really you never know. Maybe your great-great-great grandmother has passed down a recessive gene to you that hasn't really come shown itself until you pass it to your baby. Looking at your family history can give you an idea of what your baby would look like, but sometimes you just get thrown a curve-ball. Blue eyes are recessive, brown dominate, but a blue eyed gene may have been passed down through many of your generations, but never manifested because the brown was dominate. You just never know :)

Hi Nguyen, you really should consider doing what my Hmong girlfriend and her pure blonde husband are doing. They got on the waiting list for the adoption of a white baby. It could be any time for them. Why take a chance? What if it is an Asian male? What then? You can't just leave it out on the ice like in the old days. you have genes, your bf has genes

just because you have black hair, doesnt mean you dont hold a gene for lets say, blonde hair. same applies for your boyfriend.

there are 2 types of genes : dominant and recessive. dominant is the "stronger" gene and recessive is the "weaker" gene.

I have a friend who went through something similar to that when she was around 16 or 17. The difference is all of the gray hairs that she got were all clustered in the same spot and there were only several hairs. I don't think there's anything you can do to stop it. It's probably genetic. Maybe you should consider using henna on your hair, because henna is not harmful but it is actually healthy for your hair. It could also be caused by stress. If you are under a lot of pressure then that could be the reason. If so, then try to relax and not worry about things so much.

I'm sorry I wasn't much of a help but there's only so much you can do about gray hair.

Only buy shampoo from beauty salons, they are not expensive and will not ruin your hair, or cause "white sands", and don't use conditioners. If your hair is healthy, you won't need them. Once you start using conditioners, you can't stop, they "eat" the inner shaft of the hair. Conditioning balm from beauty salons is fine, only use it about once a month.

My daughter started greying in high school, quite early on.

Just genetic roll of the dice.

Actually, she's been all grey/white since mid twenties and if she dyes it, it looks very cool when it is growing out.

LOL yes it's normal, join the club! My situation is that it is hereditary in my family from my dad's side. I started getting white hairs when I was 18! I do think though that it started getting worse when I stressed out over things (I had a really stressful year last year, and OMG I had so many white hairs it was ridiculous!) I usually pluck them out-even though my hairstylist "claims" that the hairs will just grow back whiter and harder to pull out. I will admit that some of the hairs aren't just white anymore-some of them are STARK white to the point of looking weird! LOL

Nevertheless, I still continue to pull them out (most of them are in the front/forehead section and the middle). I always joke that I'm afraid that by the time I turn 40, I am going to look like Halle Berry as 'Storm' from the "X-Men" with stark white hair!

Pluck the hairs out with tweezers or dye them if they bother you. Just be careful with the tweezers-I use to get a little "happy" with them and pull out hairs that I didn't want to take out along with the white ones!

Totally normal. I started getting a few grey hairs as early as 18! It shouldn't matter, and chances are you're the only one who notices them, but if you're really self conscious about it, then you can always either pluck them, since its just a few, or invest in some touch up hair dye. Most brands sell smaller bottles called root or touch-up dye fairly cheap, or you could try coloring your whole head to match. I personally like changing my hair color occasionally anyway, so I choose to dye it.

But don't worry, its nothing abnormal! Don't let it bother you!

It is quite normal for a 22 year old with 4 or 5 white hairs. Many years ago I had a colleague aged 26-27 with almost all of his hair going grey. He is now about 50...didn't stop him from cheating on his wife with a much younger lady. There are herbal remedies that might help(with the hair that is). If you have a Chinese herbalist in your area pay him or her a visit, they have a wonderful medicine for this (and balding) but you have to take it for a long time to gain success.

It's normal. My first one was discovered by a girl on the playground when I was 7. "Ew you have GREY HAIR!" she squealed. It isn't really black, sort of a dirty colour-like grime-ring around the collar, Is there any product I could use to fade it, bearing in mind it is polyester? your blouse is not toast try using some baby oxy clean, not oxy clean, baby oxy clean. it is stronger for all those little baby stains.

baby oxy clean works wonders i had grease from working on a car grimed in to it then normally washed it, then let it dry like that. it made it look grimy. then my girlfriend suggested baby oxy clean, and beleave me it took the grim right out. so try it and it should work for you too.

Thats not at all true. It just depends where in the world you look. I am African American, I have hazel eyez, and blonde hair (yes its natural). Everyone, regardless of race comes in different varieties. There are some light skinned African Americans (such as myself----and I'm not mixed), there are some darker skinned caucasion people. I cannot speak for God, but my thought is geography %26amp; climate. People with fair skin see to do much better away from the equator than peoples with darker skin, whether in Asia or Africa, Central America, and the Northern part of South America. Since Europe is mostly in the temperate zone, its indegenous people were fairer skinned. I used to think that people with darker, even black skin were better able to handle the sun, so their presence in more equatorial areas was the reason, but I have found out that even Black or African-descended people can get sunburn too. The hair color has to be something to do again with climate, and probably, at one time diet.

People with dark skin have a chemical called 'melanin' which makes them black. This melanin is also found in the hair, so if you have a large amount in your body, as black people do, your hair will also be very dark.

I think you might not be very familiar with people who are not white, that's why you can see the differences amongst white people and not among others. For example there are many many shades of 'dark hair' and 'dark eyes' which you might not be used to differentiate.

An absurd example would be zebras. To most of us they all look alike, but to a zebra, they all look different since they know how to differentiate the stripes, but all humans look alike.

Furthermore, you have learnt to focus your search for differences on the areas where white people exhibit differences, but that doesn't mean these are the best criteria to look for differences in other people. Other physical characteristics like body proportions, shape of nose, shape of eyes... all distinguish people if you look close enough.

I think that your question would be solved if you took a year or two off and went to a different part of the world, culturally, and lived there. Then you would realise the myriad of shapes, colours, sizes, flavours the human race comes in. And if you ascribe these differences to God, then you could marvel in the diversity of creation.

I have green eyes and both of my brothers have green eyes (one of them has eyes that are almost blue, very light colored) and the other one has blonde hair and dark green eyes. All three of us are light-skinned. Ever watch tv? Michael Michele (actress) and Vanessa Williams (former Miss America) are people of color and have green and blue eyes respectively. yeah i think you'd be able to tell. my brother did the same thing. if u want it a bit more natural look get a few brown shadded high lights in it (not streaks just gentle highlights) coz natural hair is a mix of colours

You would be able to tell within a couple weeks, the roots would be really obvious and hair color can fade making some hair looking oddly lighter then other hair.

Locks are a cultural statement, as are braids. When people of color wear their hair natural they are typicially trying to be in touch with their roots. When white people do it...well, I get what they are attempting to do. I don't find it offensive...but I'm not a fan of it. The white people I've seen usually look rather unkempt...not a good look.

It depends if you carry the genetic for red hair. If you do, and one of your eggs have it and it comes with a sperm with the same red hair genetic/chromosomes, your child would have red hair. Other wise if one of your eggs is brown/black hair, and comes with his red hair sperm, it'll only become a carrier for the red haired chromosome, and would have brown/black hair!

If you want straight hair permanently, you can do 2 things.

1. get a perm, but instead of having them wrap your hair around rollers, have them comb it stick straight. I did this years ago, and it held in my thick and curly hair for about 3 months.
