You dont comb your hair, Ever. You can wash it and stuff.. Basically dreads are knotted up, never combed hair.. they just form themselves.

2. grab a comb and grab a section of ur hair and brush up and down really fast!!

put braids in to small sections and don't brush or comb.you can take showers but skip the shampoo every 3 days. hope this helps!

use beeswax and roll your hair in a circle while applying...your hair will start to dread...beeswax will be a good start though

You can start them with braids, twists, comb coils, etc. I'll post a link to a dreadlocks message board. It has a lot of info on how to start locs. Hope this helped!

I have dreads actually and I had it started professionally. They normally like your hair to be natural (chemical free) and sometimes they use beeswax or something else that makes the hair lock. It takes a while for your hair to lock though when you're now getting started so have patience..
