I'd reccomend you use the newer "Japanese style" relaxers that use a straightening iron in the process. It's a very long process depending on the length of your hair. (can take up to 8 hours). You can get it done at the salon ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$) or buy a kit at Sally beauty supply.
It may not make your hair stick straight (it doesn't on some people) but your hair will be a lot straighter than where you started. It's less damaging than lye relaxers. Also may be less damaging in the long run if you were to use a flat iron every day instead.
What permanent hair straighteners are good for white people?
None. It will make your hair straggly, and dry. After you perm it you will still have to style it. Your hair doesnt just get beautiful and straight when you use a chemical on it. i would suggest buying a ceramic iron that heats to 450 degrees, works greati use mine all the time.I have kinky hair and i made the mistake of perming it,so trus me don't do it.
